Hi all,
I have an issue I would like to raise regarding the concepts of multidisciplinary care conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
One of my colleagues has pointed out that multidisciplinary care conference is a very specific type of thing, namely:
“Multidisciplinary Care Conferences are an evidence-based approach to improve the monitoring and care of oncology patients by providing multidisciplinary collaboration in care plan development for the treatment of complex cancer patients.”
And: https://stanford.cloud-cme.com/course/courseoverview?P=0&EID=53865
Currently, we have translated multidisciplinary care conference as ‘multidisciplinair overleg’ or a multidisciplinary meeting, which we abbreviate as MDO. An MDO is a type of meeting that involves people with different backgrounds (at least two) discussing a specific patient’s case (See: Wat houdt een MDO in? | HIS-Referentiemodel).
I see, at face value at least, that many other languages have taken the same route in translating as we did at the Dutch NRC.
My questions are as follows:
-
Is your translation provided for the concept 384682003 | multidisciplinary care conference a semantically accurate one for this concept when referring to the meaning above?
-
Does the Dutch definition of a multidisciplinary meeting also exist in your language, if so, what term is used?
-
Would 287051000000107 | multidisciplinary meeting (procedure) fit instead? Or can you find any other concepts?
Thank you!
