The September 2025 Production release of the Veterinary Extension to SNOMED CT package is now available from the MLDS distribution site. This is the first release of this version of the product, and is dependent upon (and should therefore be consumed in conjunction with) the February 2025 SNOMED CT International Edition.
The Veterinary Extension to SNOMED CT (VetSCT) is a formal extension to the SNOMED CT International release, maintained by the Veterinary Terminology and Standards Group (VTS) at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va. It contains content of veterinary importance as well as terms (descriptions) used by veterinarians that are not commonly used in human health.
All files distributed for this release are available from the “September 2025 Production Release v1.0” version in the “Veterinary Extension release of SNOMED CT” project, which can be found on the “SNOMED Releases” page in MLDS, accessed here (please ensure that you login to MLDS first):
The Veterinary Extension to SNOMED CT release is distributed in a zipped archive file in the official RF2 format as follows:
