Hi all,

Please see the following briefing note which has just been released:

This briefing note seeks feedback on how to implement a new modelling approach and description format for 91302008 |Sepsis (disorder)| and its subtypes, while aiming to minimise disruption to users. These updates align content with the Sepsis-3 definition. Feedback is requested by March 6th 2026.

Hi Sarah,

Could the briefing note be expanded slightly to address the small number of concepts where septicemia is present as a synonym for a sepsis concept? (e.g. 10001005 |Bacterial sepsis (disorder)| has a synonym Bacterial septicemia).

I think these terms may be used interchangeably but I am not certain if they should be represented as semantically equivalent?

Yes, this is a great suggestion; we could include a review of the synonyms in this work.
