Mild neurocognitive disorder due to possible Alzheimer's disease

Greetings,

The US NRC has received about 30 requests for DSM-5 related content in the syntactical format:

.. Severity .. Disorder .. causality .. possible disorder

Examples:

  • Mild neurocognitive disorder due to possible Alzheimer’s disease (disorder)
  • Major neurocognitive disorder due to possible frontotemporal degeneration, severe (disorder)

From an policy perspective, these seem not to adhere to:

  1. Representation of severity
  2. Statement of causality about a suspected (i.e. possible or probable) disease
  3. Excessive precoordination of two independent clinical conditions

Questions:

  1. Have any other countries received similar requests and if so how were the requests processed?
  2. Does SNOMED International have any additional guidance regarding accepting or rejecting these requests?

Thank you in advance.

John
