Greetings,
The US NRC has received about 30 requests for DSM-5 related content in the syntactical format:
.. Severity .. Disorder .. causality .. possible disorder
Examples:
- Mild neurocognitive disorder due to possible Alzheimer’s disease (disorder)
- Major neurocognitive disorder due to possible frontotemporal degeneration, severe (disorder)
From an policy perspective, these seem not to adhere to:
- Representation of severity
- Statement of causality about a suspected (i.e. possible or probable) disease
- Excessive precoordination of two independent clinical conditions
Questions:
- Have any other countries received similar requests and if so how were the requests processed?
- Does SNOMED International have any additional guidance regarding accepting or rejecting these requests?
Thank you in advance.
John
