International dental SNOMED CT implementations — share your experience

We are building a community repository of dental SNOMED CT implementations from across the globe. Whether your organisation has adopted general SNOMED CT usage in a clinical system or developed a dedicated dental refset, we want to hear from you.

The goal is to create a practical, freely accessible resource that helps countries and organisations at the start of their implementation journey — learning from real-world experience.

Please post a reply below covering the following three points:

1. Where the implementation has taken place

Country, region, organisation type (e.g. national programme, hospital system, dental school, health authority), and approximate scale of deployment.

2. Barriers encountered during implementation

Any technical, organisational, clinical, or political barriers you faced. What made the implementation harder than expected, and how (if at all) were those barriers overcome?

3. How SNOMED CT was implemented — the use case

A brief description of the clinical or administrative use case. For example: diagnosis recording, charting, referral letters, research, a national refset, or integration with an electronic dental record (EDR/EPR). What problem did SNOMED CT solve?

Partial implementations welcome. You do not need a complete implementation to contribute. Pilots and works-in-progress are equally valuable — lessons learned at any stage help the wider community.
