Meeting summary-

The Radiology Content Working Group meeting focused on reviewing the agenda, discussing meeting notes, and examining the gap analysis for radiology procedures.

The meeting began with technical difficulties as Rikard experienced issues sharing his screen, which Monica and others helped troubleshoot. After determining the notes were already shared in the forum, Rikard asked for questions or comments about the minutes from the previous meeting. The group then discussed postponing work on ultrasound and Doppler until after completing their primary objective of adding and promoting Radiology procedures.

Participants shared updates on the promotion of radiology content from various extensions, with Maria explaining the timeline for promoting UK concepts.

Julius from Estonia presented their detailed approach to modelling radiology procedures using a combination of methods and body parts, sparking a discussion on the international applicability and modelling of such concepts in SNOMED CT.

The group debated the balance between pre-coordinated concepts and metadata, with input from Audrey, Marie-Alexandra, and John on clinical relevance and usability.

The meeting also touched on the need for clinical input from multiple countries to ensure international harmonization.

The group was also informed that Keng Ling will begin authoring new concepts in the SNOMED CT International Edition in November, starting with the gap analysis and content received from Sweden.

The group agreed to populate a shared Google Sheet with national requirements for further analysis.

Next steps

1. Monica: Talk to Victor about the EAG topic on conjunctive prepositions for procedures and potential alignment with radiology procedures.

2. Maria: Continue working with the SI tech team to import the remaining ~700 concepts from the UK Extension and assess them for promotion to the international edition.

3. Julius: Complete the addition of interventions to the Estonian procedure catalog and share the full set of procedures (including interventions and geography) with the group for gap analysis.

4. Julius: Upon completion of the full set, provide the data in a format suitable for inclusion in Maria’s Google Sheet for gap analysis.

5. Maria: Post the link to the Google Sheet for gap analysis with the agenda after the call and manage access requests.

6. All participants: Review the terms of reference for the Radiology Content Working Group and provide feedback if any.

7. All participants: Populate the Google Sheet with national radiology procedure requirements, following the established pattern.

8. Audrey: Update the group on the ongoing discussions within RadLex about modelling radiology procedures and invite interested members to join.

9. Group: Consider the upcoming European standard for exchanging imaging (to be published in March) when discussing metadata vs. procedure coding.
