Thanks very much for your thoughtful feedback. The model we started with, as you describe, allows all users to view almost everywhere and respond/write in places where they are part of the group. This is always a balance between complete openness and a bit of control, so that conversations remain relevant.
I will pass your feedback to the group owners and discuss if they have any thoughts on opening the ability to write/respond in each of their groups.
In the meantime, there is always a ‘request access’ button on all groups, generally in the about posts in each forum (e.g. here is the nursing group topic - About the Nursing CRG category ).
